Welcome to Squirrel Ridge Farm

Nestled in the woods and wetlands of northwestern Wisconsin, Squirrel Ridge Farm is located 15 miles east of Webster in Burnett County. Squirrel Ridge Farm was established in 2009 with three goals: to provide sustainably grown blueberries and vegetables for our friends and neighbors, to raise awareness of the benefits of locally grown food, and to provide our family an opportunity to work and thrive together.

alt Our journey to achieve these goals began in the winter of 2009 when 3.5 acres of mixed hardwood trees were cleared by equine loggers. In 2010, the fields were cleaned, cover cropped, terraced and prepped for planting. That year we also raised heirloom tomato plants in a season extending, high tunnel hoop house and the resulting tomato crop was sold at farmers markets and to area restaurants. In 2011, the first acre of blueberries was planted, and an acre of the farm was devoted to a wide variety of sustainably grown vegetables for CSA shares.  Heirloom tomatoes continued to be our signature vegetable and a second high tunnel hoop house was built to grow early season vegetables. By 2013, all the blueberries will be planted - our first marketable fruit crop is anticipated in 2014.

We hope you will check our website throughout the season as we continue on this journey for good food, friends and family!
